The Johnston City Council gave approval to a Development Agreement with Lithia of Des Moines at their meeting on May 19, 2014. The agreement provides tax increment financing assistance for the planned $6 million expansion. In addition to remodeling the 19,000 SF Volkswagen building, a new 17,650 SF Audi building will be constructed – adding $2.6 million to the Johnston tax base.
