On Monday, December 21st the City of Johnston held a public hearing and approved their Capital Improvement Plan for FY 2017. The Council has discussed the proposed Capital Improvement Plan during several work sessions throughout October and November. The City is required to formally adopt a five-year capital improvements plan. In March the Council will adopt the 2016-2017 budget.
The 2016 – 2017 Capital Improvements Budget totals $11,152,860. This includes an issuance of $10,922,860 in debt for projects supported by tax levy, storm water utility fees, TIF revenue, and water and sewer revenue. All capital projects will require consideration by the City Council before proceeding with the projects. Projects on the Capital Improvements schedule for 2016-2017 include parks projects, roadway project improvements, storm drainage improvements, sanitary sewer improvements and water improvements.
